Skydio is the leading US drone company and the world leader in autonomous flight, the key technology for the future of drones and aerial mobility. The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, operational excellence, and customer obsession to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users, from utility inspectors to first responders, soldiers in battlefield scenarios and beyond.
About the Role:
We are looking for a driven, results-oriented Solutions Engineer to lead technical discovery, demonstrations, and implementation for government and national security customers. This role supports specifically Ministries of Defense or equivalent organizations, across Eastern Europe and the Middle East. You will work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate customer mission needs into successful Skydio deployments.
You will act as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams, owning the end-to-end technical engagement. This includes discovery, proof-of-concept efforts, system demonstrations, validation, and fielded implementations. This position reports into the Solutions Engineering organization and partners closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to deliver autonomous systems on schedule and to specification.
How You’ll Make an Impact:

Lead technical discovery with government customers to understand mission requirements, operational constraints, regional considerations, and metrics for success
-
Plan and execute proof-of-concepts, field trials, and validation events to demonstrate system performance in real-world conditions
-
Prepare and deliver end-to-end system demonstrations, including independent setup of developmental equipment, system operation, troubleshooting, and customer-facing presentations
-
Own all aspects of system validation and customer implementations to ensure successful, on-schedule deployments
-
Serve as a subject matter expert during government contracting, test, and acceptance activities, and guide Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams through validation processes
-
Support business development through technical writing and contributions to RFIs, RFPs, and proposals
-
Act as the voice of the customer by translating operational feedback and requirements into product roadmap inputs
-
Provide general support for go-to-market and broader business activities as required
What Makes You a Good Fit:
Requirements:
-
Ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent regional and international travel across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the United States
-
Ability to obtain required drone pilot certifications, including FAA Part 107 or local equivalents
