As the Payroll Specialist, you are responsible for all elements of the payroll processing and personal administration and ensure that they remain efficient and effective in line with company expectations and compliance with labor law requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Managing the new starter on-boarding life cycle by collating, checking and ensuring the employee and Manager complete the required information in a timely manner.
- Assisting with processing contract changes and leavers.
- Manage the processing of the monthly payroll ensuring a high standard of accuracy is maintained.
- Ensuring employee payroll files are kept tidy and in line with policy.
- Maintaining sickness and holiday accruals as required.
- Organizing advances and liaising with Finance as and when required.
- Maintaining full and accurate records for auditing purposes.
- Completing the sign off for timecards on the time and attendance system.
- Assisting with employee queries as and when required.
- Assisting with all post payroll processing duties.
- Identifying processes that may be streamlined to increase productivity.
- Assisting with GDPR compliance.
- Manage End of Year processes and ensure legal obligations are met.
- Manage benefits and incentive payments
- Assist in the implementation of HR/Time & Attendance systems withing the assigned territory.
- Highlight opportunities in the business and liaise with the HR & Finance departments to drive solutions as and when required.
- Assist with general ad-hoc projects and duties where necessary.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration across HR, Finance, and the wider business.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to challenge existing processes and enhance service delivery.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating reliability and accountability.
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Educational background at MBO+ or HBO level, preferably in Finance, HR, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Payroll Analyst/ Payroll Specialist.
- Strong hands-on experience with payroll systems; experience with Loket is a strong advantage.
- Solid experience working with HR and Payroll systems; experience with Workday is desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reconciliation.
- Experience with Time & Attendance (T&A) systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of payroll processes, controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience within a retail or high-volume environment is a plus.
- Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
