How you’ll make an impact:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the evolution of Ads Wizz’s high-throughput streaming infrastructure that powers global audio and video distribution.
You will work on the AIS streaming server and Managed Service Platform, helping design and deliver robust, scalable, and secure systems deployed in large-scale, high-availability cloud environments.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional and cross-continent teams to ensure our streaming and transcoding capabilities evolve alongside business and product objectives.
What you’ll do: - Core Engineering Responsibilities:

Contribute to the analysis, design, and implementation of the AIS streaming server and AIS Managed Service Platform (primarily C++, with Go components).
-
Design and build high-performance, scalable systems deployed in large-scale, highly available AWS environments.
-
Contribute to the architectural evolution of the streaming server, including adoption of modern streaming protocols.
-
Help design and implement audio/video transcoding capabilities using state-of-the-art formats and codecs.

Collaboration & System Ownership
-
Participate in architecture discussions and planning sessions with Product and Engineering teams.
-
Collaborate closely with Dev/Cloud Operations to ensure reliable production deployments.
-
Support incident management efforts and contribute to root cause analysis and long-term system improvements.
-
Work effectively within a collaborative development process across multiple engineering teams.
-
Participate in technical interviewing activities when needed.
What you’ll need:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
-
5+ years of professional software engineering experience in C/C++ (modern C++ experience preferred).
-
Experience designing and building distributed systems deployed in production.
-
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, configuration management, release processes, and system verification/testing.
-
Experience identifying and debugging performance bottlenecks in complex systems.
-
Ability to independently own and deliver significant features or components.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
-
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and negotiate design tradeoffs.
-
Proven ability to learn and adopt new technologies.
Experience in One or More of the Following Areas:
-
Designing and scaling streaming and/or transcoding services.
-
Working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
-
Designing and maintaining public APIs.
-
Working with relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL preferred) and/or NoSQL systems.
-
Implementing caching solutions (Redis, Memcached).
-
Messaging platforms (Kafka, AWS Event Bridge).
-
Containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
-
Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
-
Security fundamentals (e.g., OAuth2).
-
We consider a plus having good expertise in any of the following areas:

Experience with Rust.

Experience with Go or Python.
-
Experience with streaming servers (Shoutcast, Icecast, Wowza).

Knowledge of streaming protocols (HTTP, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, ICY).

Familiarity with media container formats and codecs (MP3, MP4, H264, AAC, MPEG).

Experience with transcoding tools (ffmpeg, AWS Elemental).

AWS services (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, EKS, Kinesis, SQS, etc.).

Automated integration testing tools (Wiremock, Cucumber, Playwright).

Experience with advertising protocols (VAST, OpenRTB).
