Meet the Team
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) ensures the highest levels of quality and reliability across our global supply base. In this role, you will work closely with semiconductor foundries, OSATs (assembly/test partners), and contract manufacturers to drive continuous improvement, resolve complex quality issues, and support new product introductions. You will partner with cross functional teams in Supplier Management, Product Quality, Product Test Engineering, Planning, Packaging Engineering, Foundry Engineering, Failure Analysis, and Sales to ensure high quality products are delivered to our customers.
As a senior member of the team, you will play a critical role in protecting product quality from silicon to shipment, while influencing supplier strategy and strengthening our overall supply chain performance.
Responsibilities:

Drive and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to achieve high product and process quality in compliance with Silicon Labs requirements and industry standards and requests, embracing the continuous improvement mindset

Lead cross functional teams to address supplier quality and reliability issues, including containing the issue, determining root cause, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and fan-out, ensuring proper execution and resolution of issues

Analyze and review abnormality material hold, manufacturing deviations and evaluate risks to provide timely disposition of affected product by participating on Material Review Boards (MRB)

Facilitate comprehensive supplier gap analysis and lessons learned sharing and benchmarking across suppliers and partners in tandem with performing periodic supplier audits to verify suppliers’ quality system, process control and effectiveness

Engage in continuous improvement, defect reduction, and cost reduction activities by working closely with suppliers, supplier managers, product test engineering and product quality engineering to coordinate change management, product qualifications and ongoing reliability and quality monitors

Provide leadership to achieve supplier quality key performance indicator goals and targets as well as maintain Silicon Labs International’s quality management system certifications and corporate social responsibility
Qualifications/Skills you'll need:

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related degree with 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry

Strong knowledge of quality management systems, tools & methods, statistical data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies

Good understanding of Semiconductor Technology and the manufacturing processes

Process control and other six sigma tools knowledge

Experience with problem solving tools and root cause analysis techniques (Fault tree analysis, 3x5 Why, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), failure analysis and reliability concepts in semiconductor products

Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, JEDEC, and environmental regulations (RoHS/REACH)

Ability to influence and drive results across external partners

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
