Associate, Accountant (Tax) - Finance, Shopee

Responsibilities

• Support for the direct tax, indirect tax for group of companies in Vietnam
• Ensure the compliance of local tax requirements. This includes review or prepare tax returns, where appropriate
• Assess local entities’ operations are aligned with the group tax policies
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and communicate implications to clients and internal teams.
• Reconcile entities' tax debts with tax authorities and maintain and control compliance process of promotion programs, inclusive of filing documents for tax purposes
• Manage stakeholders' info per statutory requests and other relevant stakeholders' request
• Reconcile revenues per accounting books and invoice system for tax purposes
• Review contracts, documents to ensure sufficiency and legitimacy of transactions for tax purposes
• Maintain strong relationship with both internal & external stakeholders
• In charge for other Tax admin tasks and report
• Other tasks assigned by Reporting Manager or other adhoc request from Tax authorities

Requirements

Must have**:**

• Min 3 years tax experience in a public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred) and/ or MNC handling corporate tax, VAT, WHT, etc.
• Technically strong with solid knowledge and experience in corporate tax compliance and VAT, WHT
• Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative
• Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision
• Degree in Accounting or Taxation or Economics

Nice to have:

• Knowledge and experience in transfer pricing, household tax is a plus
• Knowledge of International taxation laws and regulations with regional tax exposure in Asia Pacific is a plus
• Fast worker with ability to work well under stress
• Prior experience in tax strategy implementation, planning support and project management will be advantageous
