System Engineer, Corporate IT (Shopee)

As a part of our team, you’ll help deliver seamless IT experiences and support to our employees at Sea by providing responsive helpdesk service, stable networks and reliable IT systems.

As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for corporate core system solutioning and architecture, implementation of various technical solutions to meet corporate requirements, and providing technical support in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Responsibilities

Virtualization & Server Infrastructure

• Deploy, manage, and optimize VMware v Sphere virtualization platform across production environments
• Administer physical server hardware including provisioning, lifecycle management, and capacity planning
• Support ongoing virtualization roadmap including planned migration to Proxmox
• Manage VM lifecycle, snapshot management, and resource pool optimization

Active Directory & Identity Services

• Manage and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTP, NPS, and WSUS across all sites
• Handle GPO design and enforcement, OU structure, user/group lifecycle, and delegation models
• Support SSO, RADIUS-based network access control, and identity governance processes

Storage Systems

• Administer NAS and SAN storage platforms including provisioning, zoning, tiering, and performance tuning
• Manage backup operations using Veeam, including job scheduling, retention policy, and periodic recovery testing
• Monitor storage utilization trends and proactively raise capacity recommendations

Vulnerability Assessment

• Conduct regular Vulnerability Assessments (VA) on physical servers and virtual machines
• Track, prioritize, and coordinate remediation of identified vulnerabilities in alignment with security policy
• Maintain VA scan schedules and produce findings reports for team lead and stakeholder review

Monitoring & Observability

• Build and maintain system monitoring dashboards using Zabbix, Grafana, and Elastic
• Define alerting thresholds, escalation rules, and on-call runbooks for critical services
• Contribute to proactive detection and root cause analysis for recurring incidents

Operations & Projects

• Participate in patching cycles, change management, and scheduled maintenance windows
• Support infrastructure projects including site buildouts, system migrations, and service upgrades
• Produce technical documentation including SOPs, RCA reports, and architecture diagrams
• Collaborate with the Network team, vendors, and regional IT on cross-functional initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/Information Technology or relevant field
• Minimum 1 years of relevant experience operating in a similar role
• Strong server and system knowledge with hands-on experience
• MCSA / RHCSA / VCP or higher is a plus
• Experienced in AD or Enterprise MDM solution
• May be required to provide on-call support
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn in a fluid and fast-paced environment
• Has a passion for technology and wants to make a difference with technology solutions
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with local and HQ team.
