Job Description: What’s the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer – Cloud Security who will be responsible for managing and executing control operations across enterprise cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and foundational platform services such as SQL IaaS Managed Services and Cloud Connectivity Platforms.

This role ensures operational excellence, risk governance, and platform security across the enterprise cloud ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing Control Operations & Governance

  • Take end-to-end ownership of the control operations scope, including timely execution of controls, evidence collection, archival, and reporting.
  • Document and track risk observations, drive remediation plans, and ensure closure within required timelines.
  • Ensure all cloud platform controls are well understood, implemented correctly, and delivered on time.
  • Engineer governance guardrails and policy-as-code controls to enforce continuous compliance, security baselines, and platform standards across cloud environments.

Risk Assessment & Compliance

  • Support and lead risk assessments related to enterprise cloud services by engaging with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure risks are assessed, recorded, mitigated, and monitored appropriately.
  • Maintain an audit-ready environment at all times, supporting periodic internal and external audits.
  • Respond promptly to audit queries and ensure zero control non-compliance.

Vulnerability Management

  • Manage vulnerability tracking and remediation for all enterprise cloud service platforms.
  • Notify stakeholders of identified vulnerabilities, follow up on remediation actions, and ensure closure within SLA.
  • Monitor vulnerability trends, report and drive continuous reduction of security exposure.

Automation, Optimization & Control Rationalization

  • Drive and execute engineering activities to automate, optimize, and rationalize controls, ensuring robust and scalable solutions are designed and implemented
  • Contribute to enhancement of control-related processes and governance.
  • Ensure platform changes meet reliability, security, and compliance requirements before rollout.

Security Configuration & Platform Hardening

  • Support implementation of cloud security technical configurations to ensure platforms remain secure, compliant, and reliable.
  • Partner with internal teams, platform DevOps and stakeholders to maintain consistent security baselines.
  • Support implementation and maintain comprehensive observability across cloud platforms by engineering solutions to monitor, logging, metrics, and alerting to ensure reliability and actionable insights

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s in Technology or related degree with minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with of Azure and AWS cloud platforms
  • Understanding of cloud native security services (e.g., Azure Defender, Azure Policy, AWS Security Hub, AWS IAM, Guard Duty, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of cloud compliance frameworks and control design and operations.
  • Experience in risk assessment, control execution, evidence management, and audit readiness.
  • Experience with vulnerability management processes and tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Good to Have:

  • Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or AWS Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) certifications.
  • Exposure to enterprise cloud governance, automation tooling, or security engineering practices.
  • CRISC – Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control
  • CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
