Position Summary

We’re seeking a full-time Merchandise Specialist II for our Los Angeles based corporate office. The Merchandise Specialist will support the Director of Product in building, launching, and maintaining a successful sub-brand at SHEIN. This role requires a sharp sense of fashion trends, the ability to identify consumer habits, and a strong understanding of product development and social media trends. The Merchandise Specialist must work with speed and accuracy, excelling in cross-functional collaboration. As a key player in the brand building process, the Merchandise Specialist will work closely with the Director to ensure success of the brand.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development for women's apparel categories within the local sub-brand, identifying both micro and macro trends. Present insights and recommendations to the Director.
  • Drive the development of 60+ new designs per month that resonate with the brand's core demographic.
  • Prepare detailed development tech packs for the overseas team, ensuring minimal follow-up is required and maintaining control of development costs.
  • Manage fabric development, sourcing textiles and trims.
  • Analyze product performance, identifying best and slow-selling items. Develop and implement merchandising strategies with the Director's guidance.
  • Own the creative process from original inception to initial sample.
  • Manage post-photography processes, including image review and selection.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in fast-fashion or e-commerce merchandising, product development or design.
  • Trend-driven and creative, with knowledge of designers, brands and influencers.
  • Experience in product development with an understanding of fabrics, construction, and fit.
  • Highly organized, with strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient use of Excel and MS Word.
