What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer who sees the world differently, who explores and lives to beat the system and challenge it, and who will help build our next-generation cloud workload security offering. You will own and lead the architecture, design, and implementation of a multi-disciplinary cloud-native software platform that will serve thousands of users (from enterprise & public sector clients across the globe, incl. some of the largest companies globally) and billions of events daily as part of Sentinel One's security offering. You will be building distributed systems and end-to-end, high-traffic, practically zero‑latency, real‑time data pipelines that serve all our customers in the area of Cloud security. As a software engineer at Sentinel One, you will face extraordinary performance and optimization challenges due to the scale of our cybersecurity services.

What will you do?

• Leading, designing, and developing Sentinel One’s cloud workload security offering using cutting-edge technologies and services.

• Participate in architecture, design, and technological research while considering costs, performance, scale, monitoring, etc.

• Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to execute the product roadmap.

• Work in a CI/CD environment

• Learn new technologies, mainly in the areas of complex distributed systems in the cloud.

Tech stack includes:

• Backend: Go, Python, Rust

• Data & Messaging: Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases

• Infrastructure & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure‑as‑code (such as Terraform).

• Cloud: Major public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)

What skills & knowledge should you bring?

• Experience designing and building high-traffic, large-scale microservices and real‑time data pipelines with a critical focus on high availability, ultra‑low latency, and maintainability.

• Experience developing resilient, cloud-native solutions and real-time data pipelines.

• At least 5 years of experience with Python or Go

• Experience working with databases (both SQL and NoSQL)

• Proven experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Experience with Kubernetes - significant advantage

• Hands-on experience with React (or similar modern JavaScript framework) – strong plus

• Hands-on experience with Kafka (or equivalent streaming platform) – strong plus

• Hands-on experience with IAC (such as Terraform, or equivalent streaming platform) – strong plus

• Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns

• Self-driven, motivated, and independent with excellent communication skills.

• Ability to quickly dive into new products and understand their inner workings

• A degree in Computer Science/Software engineering, or comparable experience

This U.S. role has a base pay range that will vary based on the location of the candidate. For some locations, a different pay range may apply. If so, this range will be provided to you during the recruiting process. You can also reach out to the recruiter with any questions.

Base Salary Range**$128,000—$150,000 USD**
