Job Summary:

The Senior Web Developer is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining end-to-end web applications, high-performance websites, and digital platforms for Semtech and Sierra Wireless. This role involves leading front-end and full-stack development initiatives while designing scalable backend systems, developing responsive frontend interfaces, implementing secure APIs, and managing data integration across multiple platforms. The position requires expertise in both client-side and server-side technologies, implementing modern web technologies to ensure scalable, secure, and responsive web solutions that align with business objectives and brand standards. The Senior Web Developer will focus on building robust, high-performance applications that support business operations, customer portals, e-commerce, and technical documentation systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop full-stack web applications including backend APIs, database architecture, server-side logic, frontend user interfaces, web-tool and feature implementation, performance optimization, and technical SEO implementation for Semtech and Sierra Wireless responsive websites and digital platforms (30%)
• Build and maintain scalable backend services, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL endpoints to support web applications and third-party integrations (20%)
• Implement and maintain content management systems (CMS), e-commerce functionality, data management solutions, and integration with CRM/ERP systems, marketing automation tools, and analytics platforms (20%)
• Lead technical architecture decisions, perform code reviews, mentor development team members, and establish best practices for security, performance, scalability, web standards, and accessibility guidelines (10%)
• Manage, upgrade, maintain, and secure web servers on AWS including server configuration, performance monitoring, security patches, and infrastructure optimization to ensure high availability and reliability (10%)
• Other relevant tasks, including DevOps support, technical documentation, legacy system modernization, and cross-functional project collaboration, as assigned (10%)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field required
• 6+ years of professional web development experience with demonstrated expertise in modern backend frameworks (PHP, Node.js or Python/Django) and server-side technologies
• Strong proficiency in frontend technologies including JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Vue.js, or Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and state management libraries
• Extensive experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) including database design, optimization techniques, and management
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in API design and development, including RESTful services, GraphQL, and API security best practices
• Experience with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of web security principles, authentication/authorization systems, web performance optimization, cross-browser compatibility, and data protection compliance
• Knowledge of Technical SEO principles including site architecture, crawlability, indexability, structured data implementation, and search engine optimization best practices
• Experience with content management systems (Word Press, Site Core, Expression Engine, or other CMS solutions)
• Experience with Core Web Vitals optimization including Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), and overall page performance metrics
• Experience with Linux Operating Systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.) for development and deployment environments
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce, Hub Spot) for data integration and marketing automation
• Experience with AI Models (preferably Anthropic) for implementation and integration into web applications

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred
• 8+ years of web development experience in enterprise B2B technology companies, preferably in semiconductor, IoT, or telecommunications industries
• Experience with advanced cloud services including serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions), message queues, and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and monitoring/logging solutions (ELK stack, Datadog, New Relic)
• Knowledge of headless CMS architectures, e-commerce platforms, and marketing automation integrations
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns, ETL processes, data warehouse solutions, and business intelligence tools
• Understanding of performance optimization, caching strategies, CDN implementation, and high-availability system design
• Previous experience building customer portals, technical documentation systems, developer-facing APIs, or technical product websites
• Familiarity with machine learning integration, analytics platforms, and cybersecurity best practices for web applications (GDPR, CCPA compliance)
