We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing, and innovating within the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.
We are in the early stages of development on an ambitious mobile game in China, and we’re assembling a team of passionate game makers to craft unforgettable characters and immersive adventures that players will love.
What You Will Do
We are seeking a Staff Build & Release Engineer:
to design, maintain, and continuously improve the build, test, and deployment infrastructure that powers our game development workflows. In this role, you will: - Own and evolve ourGitLab CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and developer usability across multiple environments and platforms.
-
Manage and optimize CI runners—including tool installation, scaling, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
-
Develop tooling and automation that streamline build, packaging, artifact management, and release processes for a large, multi-disciplinary development team.
-
Partner closely with client, server, QA, and production teams to ensure smooth, predictable build and release cycles.
-
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for CI infrastructure to ensure high availability and rapid issue detection.
What We’re Looking For
-
Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in build engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles, with deep expertise in CI/CD systems at scale.
-
CI/CD Expertise: Advanced hands-on experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI pipelines and runner infrastructure (Kubernetes, autoscaling runners, caching, artifact strategies, performance tuning).
-
Infrastructure Skills: Strong background with cloud platforms (Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes). Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
-
Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages for automation, tooling, and CI workflow orchestration.
-
Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, security best practices, and build/release tooling for large-scale, distributed engineering teams.
-
Leadership: Proven experience providing technical leadership, owning systems end-to-end, and mentoring engineers across disciplines.
-
Communication: Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
-
Education: BS or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Bonus Points
-
Experience supporting build pipelines for mobile games or large-scale online applications.
-
Familiarity with build systems such as Gradle, Fastlane, CMake, Bazel, or Unity/Unreal build pipelines.
-
Knowledge of regulatory and operational considerations when deploying infrastructure in the Chinese market.
-
Strong mentorship and leadership skills, helping build a high-performance engineering culture.
