Niantic Labs, creator of hit games including Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now, and Pikmin Bloom is seeking a Direct Marketing Manager to help shape the future of Monster Hunter Now by designing high quality game experiences that delight and engage our avid players. We’re a fast paced, multi-disciplinary team of game makers, software developers and creative professionals based in Tokyo, San Francisco, and Seattle. In this role, you will lead direct marketing from strategy through execution, streamlining lifecycle communications and driving player engagement, retention, and monetization; living up to the ambitious vision for Monster Hunter Now, helping merge the virtual with the real world and inspiring people to explore together!
Responsibilities

Craft messaging strategies that are deeply aligned with in-game progression, event rhythms, and other strategic initiatives

Drive end to end user communication implementation from planning to copywriting, creative production, and release

Improve campaign performances through A/B testing, segmentation, and user survey insights

Build trust and collaborate with Product, Live Operations, Product Marketing, Data Science, Community, and Design teams to align in-game progression, event rhythms, and overall messaging to direct communication

Collaborate with Engineering teams to ideate, test, and release new in-game features designed to enhance or improve customer experiences for Direct Marketing channels

Act as a driver of culture on the team, fostering learning, collaboration, player centricity, and excellence with an outcome oriented mindset

Required in-office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Qualifications
-
5+ years experience in a hands-on lifecycle or growth marketing role, familiar with the standard methodologies of email, push notification, in-app message, and SMS channels, understanding lifecycle marketing and user journey optimization, preferably in the tech, gaming or mobile app industry

Sound record of building and shaping the planning and execution of data driven marketing campaigns across communication channels including A/B experimentation.

Experience in working closely with Product and Engineering team to set up attributes and triggered events based on user lifecycle management needs

Solid HTML and debugging skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice

Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others

Deep understanding and/or fandom of the Monster Hunter franchise
