Project Application Engineer Remote Operations & SCADA Location: Bratislava Team: Remote Operations & SCADA Role level: Junior to Mid-level As a Project Application Engineer in Schneider Electric’s Remote Operations & SCADA team, you will support the delivery of automation, telemetry, and SCADA solutions for customers in energy, water, utilities, and industrial sectors.
You will work across the full project lifecycle — from early customer discussions to commissioning and long-term system support — while developing strong expertise in modern SCADA and telemetry systems, including GeoSCADA.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engineering support across all project stages — including pre‑project analysis, execution, and post‑project services — and provide guidance to prospective customers.
Review customer specifications and collaborate with them to define detailed system, application, and hardware requirements.
Use P&IDs to design system logic, control strategies, and application flows, and then develop system configurations, control applications, and HMI interfaces.
Prepare testing procedures and complete project documentation.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests and customer acceptance activities.
Support on‑site system setup, testing, start‑up, and commissioning.
Contribute to project profitability by reducing rework and following Schneider Electric engineering processes and quality standards.
Continuously develop technical expertise and build strong understanding of Schneider Electric products through collaboration and learning. SCADA / GeoSCADA
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, test, and troubleshoot SCADA/telemetry systems, including data points, alarms, trends, and field device integrations.
Develop and maintain GeoSCADA (ClearSCADA) configurations such as database structures, mimics, logic programs, and telemetry drivers.
Diagnose communication issues between PLCs/RTUs and SCADA servers using protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and DNP3, and optimize overall SCADA system performance and data quality.
Support system upgrades and assist with migrations from legacy SCADA platforms to GeoSCADA/SE solutions.
Requirements:
Relevant Experience:
1+ years, suitable for fresh graduates.
Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Strong PC literacy with a high level of proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and common engineering tools.
Experience: with at least one CAD tool, along with SQL and AI technologies, is welcomed.
Ability to read and understand P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
Basic knowledge and understanding of PLC and SCADA telemetry software is very welcome.
Knowledge of industrial protocols and communication standards (OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.) is an advantage.
Experience: or exposure to C#, VBScript, Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages is a plus.
Process control: Theory of automation; Practice in Control loop stability and tuning Previous experience with Schneider electric GeoSCADA is a strong advantage.
Open to travel approx. up to 50%.
Good English, both written and spoken, is required for this role.
Customer approach, team spirit and good communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
Valid driving license (Category B).
