Schneider Electric’s rapidly expanding Modular Data Center line of business is seeking a Compliance Engineer to ensure our products and solutions meet all applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role will primarily focus on design compliance, providing critical support to the engineering design team throughout tendering, execution, factory build, testing, and closeout phases. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in Modular Data Center systems and regulatory requirements, with the desire to grow their expertise in data center solution compliance and certification. Key Responsibilities: Support the engineering design team by ensuring all unique state and provincial requirements are properly addressed. Evaluate Modular Data Center solutions for compliance with NEC, NFPA, IFC, IBC, UL, CSA, ETL, and other relevant codes and standards. Conduct thorough assessments of Modular Data Center designs and operations to ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Develop and implement safety and compliance programs aligned with industry best practices and legal requirements, emphasizing a safe working environment for all personnel. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety and compliance considerations into every phase of the Modular Data Center lifecycle. Stay informed on regulatory updates and industry changes; conduct training sessions to keep teams current on new requirements. Create and maintain compliance documentation, including reports, policies, and procedures. Perform regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and non‑compliance issues, and develop corrective action plans. Partner with factory compliance engineers to complete state certification processes for North American manufacturing sites. What qualifications will make you successful? Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience: 1–3 years in Compliance Engineering, product certification, or related roles. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey a high level of expertise and confidence when interacting with customers. Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the Modular Data Center industry. Understanding of data center design architecture and typical equipment. Strong knowledge of U.S. state and Canadian provincial requirements, including egress, seismic, working space, hurricane, and fire rating specifications. Experience with risk assessment and safety analysis methodologies such as DFMEA. Familiarity with NRTL certification processes (UL, CSA, ETL).
