Mission: As Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in our company based in Sofia (commercial part) and Plovdiv (factory), supporting its day-to-day operations and long-term, stable growth.

At the same time, this role operates in close connection with Schneider Electric’s global structures, offering a broad perspective and the opportunity for international cooperation.

This is an independent role with oversight of a small local accounting team, offering strong autonomy and meaningful impact on key financial areas.

The position is well-established and mature, built on structured and robust finance and accounting processes that provide a solid foundation for further optimization and continuous improvement.

What will you do: Manage and coordinate the work of the Local Accounting Team Cooperate with the Accounting Competency Centers, monitor their performance, and propose corrective actions where necessary Ensure compliance with group accounting and tax procedures Ensure adherence to internal control standards in cooperation with the Internal Control team Ensure timely and accurate Group reporting Prepare and present the reports and analysis during regular review meetings (P&L review, Balance sheet review) Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate the external audit process Prepare and submit tax returns in accordance with applicable regulations (CIT, VAT, WHT, etc.) Cooperate with the Tax Manager and external tax advisors in preparation of the transfer pricing documentation Actively support the business by identifying accounting and tax risks Take an active role in the implementation of Group projects at local level, as well as local initiatives, particularly those driven by legal requirements.

What qualifications will make you successful: University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Extensive experience in accounting and tax compliance, preferably including prior experience as Chief Accountant

Experience: working with ERP systems (SAP would be an advantage)

Experience: in finance transformation projects is highly valued Openness, flexibility, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively Excellent communication and organizational skills Fluent English (spoken and written) Fluent Bulgarian.
