BMS Commissioning Engineer - Small and Midsize Buildings

Role Overview The BMS Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the deployment, configuration, testing, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS). The role involves working with IoT-integrated controls, HVAC systems, energy meters, and automation components to ensure seamless performance at customer sites. Key Responsibilities Site Execution & Commissioning Conduct site surveys and project readiness checks. Commission and configure RPC controllers, sensors, actuators, gateways, and panels. Perform functional testing for AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, chillers, pumps, and ventilation units. Validate control logic, setpoints, trends, alarms, and sequences. Execute FAT & SAT as per Zenatix quality standards. IoT & System Integration and Customer dashboard configuration Integrate BMS systems with IoT platforms via BACnet, Modbus,TCP/IP,Lora Wan and SNMP. Configure network communication, IP settings, and resolve mapping issues. Inter Team Coordinate with Software and Program Management teams for data validation and dashboard mapping and issue resolution in timely manner to avoid delays. Configure customer dashboards as per customer requirements Troubleshooting & Technical Support Diagnose and resolve wiring issues, sensor faults, controller errors, and protocol conflicts. Provide remote and onsite support during commissioning. Coordinate with OEM vendors and client facility teams to ensure issue closure. Documentation & Reporting Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, test sheets, and red-line drawings. Validate BOQs, schematics, sequence documentation, and other technical documents. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, ISA, ISO, and site safety standards. Maintain cybersecurity and best practices for IoT and connected devices. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s in electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics. 2–5 years of hands-on experience in BMS/EMS/IoT commissioning. Strong understanding of HVAC systems and energy management principles. Experience with Schneider’s platforms Building Commissioning Tool and Eco-Structure would be a Plus. Technical Skills Sound Knowledge of Logic building in PLCs or DDCs, VFDs programming and configuration, sensors and actuators calibration, and energy meters integration. Proficient and good understanding with communication protocols Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet MSTP/IP and SNMP. Good Understanding with the networking LAN/WAN, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, IoT connectivity. Tools: Building Commissioning Tool, Eco-Structure, Excel, AutoCAD, Mod Scan, Yabe etc. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Good communication and client-handling skills. Ability to work independently and travel as required. Work Environment On-site role with extensive customer interaction. Travel may be required based on project needs.
