What you build

As an IT Data & Analytics Engineer, you will be a key member of the newly established Adopt2Consume (A2C) Insights & Data Foundation team. The team supports SAP’s vision of becoming a data-driven company by building a consistent and reliable data foundation that accelerates the development of best-in-class AI solutions, applications, and analytical dashboards.

The team’s work plays a critical role in SAP’s overall transformation and is a key building block in enabling data-driven innovation across the organization.

The Role:

In this role, you’ll create scalable, end-to-end Data Products that serve as the backbone for transformative business decisions. You will build modern data pipelines and analytical models using SAP’s data platforms — including SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere, Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage. Your work covers the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion to high‑quality consumption models, ensuring that solutions are production‑ready, future‑focused, and aligned with SAP’s data architecture standards.

You translate complex requirements into clean, high‑performance data solutions and proactively drive improvements in automation, data flows, and team efficiency.

Stakeholder management may also be part of your work, supporting alignment when needed — but your primary focus lies on technically delivering impactful data products within the Scrum team.

What you bring

  • Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related field

  • Several years of experience in analytical or data engineering roles, ideally in complex, cross‑functional environments with stakeholder engagement

  • Strong analytical thinking, data modeling skills, and experience designing scalable data pipelines

  • Hands‑on experience with SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere, Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is highly desirable

  • Solid SQL capabilities and familiarity with DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD)

  • Python is a plus, along with interest in modern data engineering tools

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluent in English

The A2C Insights & Data Foundation plays a key role in driving SAP’s transformation by strategically shaping and implementing a central data foundation cross Adopt to Consume purposes of our customers.

With this data foundation, we are able design and develop harmonized analytical insights across AI solutions, applications, and roles, breaking down siloed data structures and enabling simplified, accurate, and consistent data consumption for end users.
