Job title – Senior Data Engineer Graph Developer: SF Skills Intelligence Foundation (Python/Pyspark)

Work Location: Bangalore North – Devanahalli Innovation Campus

What you'll do

As a Data Engineer in the Skills Intelligence team, you will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data integration, transformation

  • Build robust ETL pipelines and automate data workflows leveraging Python/Pyspark

  • Perform GDS analysis based on graph ontology

  • Engage directly with stakeholders across functions and geographies to gather requirements and align technical delivery with strategic objectives.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to project teams, mentoring developers, and promoting best practices in software design and delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with SAP product teams, partners, and customers to continuously improve content ingestion, metadata modeling, and knowledge graph integration.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8-10 years of overall experience in software development.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with practical experience developing ETL frameworks and automation tools.

  • Has actual project experience in data pipeline development, particularly ETL processes.

  • Has actual project experience in data platform like Databricks, Snowflake, Google Big Query, AWS Redshift

  • Knowledge of unit testing practices to ensure functionality and reliability.

  • Strong understanding of graph ontology concepts with hands-on experience designing and maintaining graph data models and schemas, including definition of nodes, edges, properties, indexing strategies, and data governance practices to ensure scalability and clarity.

  • Proven experience building and optimizing graph queries and traversals using languages such as Cypher**,Gremlin,**SPARQL, and SAP HANA Graph with a strong focus on performance tuning (profiling, caching, query rewrites) to meet defined latency and throughput SLAs.

  • Experience building and operating data ingestion and ETL pipelines using modern distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or similar technologies to populate and refresh graph datasets.

  • Hands-on experience deploying, operating, and scaling graph database clusters such as Neo4j**,Janus Graph,**Amazon Neptune, and SAP HANA Graph including capacity planning, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.

  • Strong Python background for pipeline development, automation, and integration with downstream systems (preferred).

  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for technology, innovation, and team collaboration.
