Gardener, Garden Linux, Cloud Orchestrator, and Iron Core are innovative projects in cloud and infrastructure technology. Gardener manages Kubernetes clusters at scale, while Garden Linux offers a secure, lightweight OS for cloud environments. Cloud Orchestrator streamlines cloud resource management, and Iron Core develops secure, high-performance infrastructure solutions. Together, these projects advance cloud technology and infrastructure management.

Our management team combines technical expertise with strong capabilities in people, project, and stakeholder management. By bridging corporate processes with project execution and team development, our managers stay actively involved in both technical and human aspects. We’re building ApeiroRA, an open-source reference architecture that strengthens Europe’s digital sovereignty. What you'll do

· Lead a highly technical team positioned as the intersection of people management, project oversight, and stakeholder engagement.

· Act as a vital bridge between corporate processes, project execution, team growth, and individual development, ensuring hands-on leadership and support.

· Foster innovation and drive success by supporting team members in their personal and professional development.

· Ensure that every team member has the resources and support needed to develop skills and achieve outstanding results, while aligning with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.

· Collaborate with SAP stakeholder teams and ApeiroRA community members to guarantee cloud-ready quality, stability and competitiveness of Gardener.

· You will be responsible for building a Kubernetes and Gardener center of expertise within the lab

What we're looking for

· Ability to inspire and align people on common goals; building trust and confidence across the team.

· Strong background in lean leadership and agile software engineering; fostering high-performing teams and continuous improvement.

· Solid understanding of project management principles and team coordination. Ability to translate business goals into actionable plans and maintain focus on priorities.

· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; ensuring clarity and collaboration.

· A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

· Solid understanding of cloud native development, cloud computing, distributed systems and container management technology such as Kubernetes.

· Continuously learn and apply new technologies and best practices to keep us ahead of the curve.
