What you’ll do:

We’re looking for motivated and talented colleague who want to join us on an exciting journey in advancing the ABAP Platform’s PaaS offering BTP ABAP Cloud Environment.

After a mentored learning phase, we expect you to take over responsibility alongside the team in the following task fields:

• Development of our Python based procedures and tools for BTP ABAP Cloud Environment

• Definition of concepts, APIs, and implementation of procedures based on compliance development frameworks and product standards

• Management of software lifecycles supported by Jenkins or GitHub Actions

• Chaos Testing

• Collaboration with IaaS and Hyperscaler partners to leverage new concepts and technologies for our multi-cloud-based SaaS and PaaS offering

What you bring:

We expect you to navigate safely and professionally in software engineering. You are familiar with the lifecycle of a software product that delivers value to our stakeholders and customers. You like to work collaboratively and foster open and trustful communication that is the foundation for your own and your team’s success.

You bring along

• A good degree in computer science, mathematics, natural science, engineering, or related fields

• 7+ years of professional experience as developer, software engineer or project manager in the IT and software industry

• The ability to understand complex technical concepts and solve problems, the skills to act as a key functional contributor in your team, and the willingness to mentor less experienced team members

• Excellent programming skills (Python and Bash) and substantial knowledge of cloud native development

• Very good understanding of Linux operating system

• Hands-on experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions

• Good knowledge about certificate management and the TLS standard

• Substantial knowledge of IaaS and Hyperscaler concepts and offerings. Certification is a plus

• A healthy curiosity to learn and adopt new tools and processes in the area of cloud operations

• Experience and knowledge in Agile methodologies such as Design Thinking, Scrum, Test-Driven Development, and Pair Programming

• Fluency in Czech and English is a must. German language skills are an advantage

Meet your team:

The ABAP Cloud Infrastructure department within the ABAP Platform organization is responsible for developing fully automated configuration, maintenance and operations tools utilized to operate over 3,000+ BTP ABAP Cloud systems in the cloud. Our department team is accountable for the entire lifecycle of our customer systems, providing centralized maintenance tools that ensure uninterrupted operations. Our role necessitates a harmonious balance between resolving technical challenges and coordinating with multiple internal stakeholders. We are currently engaged in innovative initiatives such as Zero Downtime Upgrades, Sovereign Cloud, and we are working in a technology partnership with leading IaaS/hyperscaler providers.
