What you’ll build

You will help build the next generation of SAP Business AI for Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), embedding LLMs, predictive forecasting, agents, and RAG directly into SAP’s financial core.

Our vision is to transform FP&A into a decision‑intelligence hub that unifies data across finance, supply chain, and HR. Through agentic workflows and generative insights, we enable organizations to not only predict the future but to shape it, ensuring that every financial decision is grounded in deep, cross-functional context and global compliance. This AI‑native approach turns finance teams into strategic partners who can predict and shape future outcomes.

As a greenfield initiative, you’ll help define the technical architecture from scratch. Supported by SAP’s latest technologies — BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, and Business AI — you’ll decide how to combine them into a category‑defining product.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of advanced AI systems from concept to enterprise production.

• Architect and optimize complex workflows including multi‑step reasoning, autonomous agents, and large‑scale RAG pipelines.

• Define best practices for cloud-based AI architecture, deployment, observability, and Responsible AI.

• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and future ready technical solutions.

• Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams and contribute as a top tier individual contributor.

• Solve challenges in performance, cost-efficiency, and model reliability at enterprise scale.

• Shape the LLM integration strategy for SAP financial systems and represent the team in global AI forums.

• Support CI/CD, MLOps, and automated model lifecycle management across environments.

What you bring

• 8+ years of engineering experience ideally including exposure to AI/ML engineering

• Expertise in AI system design (reasoning, agents, RAG, distributed pipelines).

• Strong Python skills (preferred) Java or similar, plus solid engineering fundamentals.

• Experience building cloud-based AI architectures using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure/AWS.

• Strong knowledge of AI frameworks, vector databases, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation.

• A track record of solving high complexity AI problems at scale or with novel architectures.

• Ability to set long-term technical direction and influence global engineering stakeholders.

• Hands-on ability to resolve deep architectural issues in complex codebases.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem solving mindset.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have but not a must

• Experience with Lang Chain, CrewAI, or other multi-agent/GenAI frameworks.

• Experience with MLFlow or advanced MLOps tooling.

• Exposure to Scrum, SAFe, or Jira.
