Role and Responsibilities

The professional will play a transformative role in deploying Samsung's Logistics Strategy for Spare Parts Operations in Latin America region, playing two main roles:

  • · Operation management of Samsung’s Regional Distribution Center located in Panama (GPC-PA): warehouse and transportation management (import & export, reverse logistics), LSPs management (contract, SLAs, performance), logistics cost management, logistics capacity planning, efficiency improvement and relationship with internal customers (Customer Service department).
  • · Governance of Local Distribution Operations in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru, monitoring their performance and looking for logistics network optimization, processes standardization, operational & cost efficiency improvements and logistics service level improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Distribution Center

  • Lead and manage the logistics operation in order to meet our customers’ requirements, being responsible for logistics capacity planning, execution within the expected service levels and in compliance with all necessary regulations.

  • Efficiency improvement: develop and manage projects to improve operational productivity, efficiency and visibility, aiming to balance logistics costs and service levels.

  • Warehouse Performance Management: inventory accuracy, on time receiving, on time shipping, continuous improvement of handling productivity, maximize storage efficiency etc.

  • Transportation Performance Management: evaluate current organizational structure, processes and logistics contracts and define an Improvement Plan. Define procurement strategy to secure the necessary logistics capacity, minimize costs and improve LSPs performance management.

- Important points:

  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including the National Customs Authority (ANA), Incoterms, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

  • Lead the structuring, maintenance, and strategic development of the Authorized Economic Operator (OEA/AEO) program, ensuring compliance and security of the regional logistics chain.

  • Actively engage in mapping and managing customs risks, designing internal controls, and conducting self-assessments to ensure the sustainability of certifications and capture operational benefits.

- LATAM Operations Governance

  • Performance Monitoring: standardize & monitor logistics KPIs; support improvement plan definition as required.

  • Logistics Efficiency Improvement: support the identification of improvement opportunities and their development as projects; monitor projects’ status, risks and results; provide guideline and support as required.

  • Visibility and Reports: prepare reports and presentations to provide the necessary visibility of Spare Parts Logistics Operations Performance, Projects and Risks & Countermeasures for Latam top management and Korea Head Quarters.

Skills and Qualifications Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in Logistics, including International Trade, Warehous and Transportation Management, continuous improvement.

- Experience in Spare Parts Logistics Operations.

  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing regional operations in Latin America.

  • In-depth knowledge and direct practice in the pillars of the OEA/AEO program (Security, Compliance, and Full Compliance), including customs risk management, implementation of control evidence, and process governance for maintaining certifications.

  • Practical experience with import/export processes, customs clearance, and special regimes.

  • Experience in integrated planning and collaboration with other departments and service providers.

  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing and management of logistics providers.

  • Proven track record in implementing and managing KPIs (Inventory Accuracy, On Time Delivery, Logistics Costs etc.).

  • Logistics Projects Management.

  • Familiarity with ERPs (SAP, Oracle), logistics systems (WMS, TMS), and analytical tools (Advanced Excel mandatory; BI nice to have).

  • Strategic vision with practical execution (hands-on).
  • Leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work in multicultural and dynamic environments.
  • Continuous improvement and innovation-oriented profile.
