Tableau Online is a fast growing cloud offering, and we are the key team to enable the growth.
As a Software Engineer of the CEDS (Could Engineering Deployment Services) Team, you will be working to ensure Tableau Online can meet its growth goals by building scalable, secure and cost-effective E2E CI/CD pipelines. You will also be building security infrastructure that strengthens secrets and certificates management automation at scale for Tableau Online.
What you’ll be doing…
- Design, build and evolve automated cloud services CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous release of software into cloud environments with reliability, scale and optimal cost.
- Hands-on triage and remediation for specific and global release failures and act as Center of Excellence for release requirements.
- Design and improve team deployment and operational processes via solid validation and automation strategies.
- Design, develop and deploy robust server-side applications and tools that run securely, are scalable and cost-effective against private and public cloud infrastructure, predominately containerized workloads.
- Design and develop cloud security solutions to auto-manage secrets, certificates and role-based authentication.
- Provide technical leadership at a component or service scope.
- Lead projects by making solid technical decisions, coaching team members and working with product managers to ship on-time and with high quality.
- Evaluate existing processes & tools and implement changes for better efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed
- Working with technology vendors to design and implement Security and Compliance solutions to meet regulation requirements such as GDPR, Fedramp etc.
- Tools and skills used in your work include Java/Python/Git/Splunk/Kubernetes/Spinnaker/HELM/Hashi Corp Vault, we are always evolving and learning/developing new tools.
- Experience and passion for leveraging automation and AI related tools to improve developer productivity, triage/remediate release failures, and protect our customer’s Availability.
Who you are...
- Experienced:
- You have 3+ years industry (non-intern) experience coding commercial software and a passion for solving complex problems in large-scale distributed system.
- You have solid development skills with object-oriented languages (Java/C#/Python) and preferably understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies and development tools (IDE, command line, GIT) as well.
- You are experienced in developing scalable services using open source or contributions toward open source projects are a plus.
- You are experienced in leading projects across development teams, particularly using Agile methodologies.
- At least 1+ years with hands-on developing and running services within a containerized environment (Kubernetes), including related CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with deployment and release management technologies like Spinnaker is preferable.
