At Sakana AI, we are advancing world-class R&D through unique generative AI techniques inspired by nature. Our Product Team is on a mission to leverage our proprietary research to conceptualize and launch AI products that defy traditional boundaries. We are looking for a Product Manager to lead this charge.

This is a full-time position based in Japan, regardless of the candidate’s background. Although we listed Japanese (Conversational) as a language requirement, we are developing products from Japan, often for the Japanese market, so candidates who have Business-level or higher Japanese proficiency (JLPT N1 level is a guideline) are preferred. Business-level English proficiency is, of course, a strong plus.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Vision & Roadmap: Define the product vision and roadmap, driving consensus across the team and executive leadership.
• Strategic Foresight: Identify fundamental shifts in how AI impacts society and redefine what is possible.
• Value Proposition: Explore AI’s potential and translate it into compelling, tangible product value.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Lead product development in close collaboration with engineers, AI researchers, and designers.
• Go-to-Market Strategy: Formulate strategies for product launches, pricing models, and market positioning.
• Global Collaboration: Collaborate effectively as part of a global team that operates in both Japanese and English.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: 3+ years of product management experience at a technology company, or equivalent professional experience.
• Track Record: Proven experience in zero-to-one product launches or achieving product-market fit.
• Technical Fluency: A degree in Computer Science, professional experience as a software engineer, or the technical fluency to engage in architectural discussions with engineers.
• AI Fluency: Ability to stay ahead of LLM and Generative AI trends and translate technical capabilities into product requirements.
• Collaboration: Experience working closely with engineers and researchers to commercialize complex technologies.
• Portfolio Management: Experience managing a portfolio of multiple products is a plus.
• Passion: Deep interest in the practical application of Generative AI in society.
• Drive: A history of pursuing ambitious goals with extraordinary passion and dedication.

応募資格およびスキル

• テクノロジー企業でのプロダクトマネジメント経験 3年以上、あるいはそれに類する実務経験
• 0→1のプロダクト立ち上げ、またはPMF達成に関わった経験
• コンピュータサイエンスの学位、ソフトウェアエンジニアとしての実務経験、またはエンジニアとアーキテクチャの議論が対等にできる深い技術的知見
• LLMおよび生成Aの仕組みや最新トレンドに自らキャッチアップし、要件に落とし込める能力）
• エンジニアやリサーチャーと密に協働し、複雑な技術をプロダクト化した経験
• 複数プロダクトのポートフォリオ管理経験があれば尚可
• 生成AIの社会実装に対する強い関心・情熱
• 人生において、並外れた熱意をもって取り組んでいることがある
