THE POSITION
Saildrone is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Finance organization and support the continued scaling of our global autonomous fleet operations. This role will own core accounting operations, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and help build scalable processes that support manufacturing, supply chain, and mission execution growth. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-moving, hardware-enabled technology environment. The Accounting Manager will drive month-end close excellence, strengthen internal controls, and support compliance requirements aligned with government and defense customers, and lead Fin Ops. We are looking for a disciplined, detail-oriented operator who thrives in ambiguity, builds structure where it doesn’t exist, and raises the financial rigor of a scaling organization.
THE TEAM
The Finance team ensures Saildrone’s financial foundation scales with global deployments and advanced technology development. We partner closely with Sales, Contracts, Program Management, and FP&A to deliver accurate, timely financial insights that support operations in a national security and defense environment.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Supervise general ledger accounting, including reconciliations, accruals, pre-paids, consolidation and inter-company transactions.

Oversee revenue-related journal entries in coordination with the Revenue Manager to ensure proper ASC 606 treatment for multi-element government and commercial contracts.

Strengthen internal controls and documentation to support audit readiness, including potential DoD-related compliance frameworks.

Support external audits, tax filings, and government reporting requirements.

Improve accounting systems, automation, and reporting workflows within Net Suite

Build and develop accounting staff as the organization scales.

Provide analytical support to Finance Leadership as needed.
THE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

CPA with experience in Public Accounting or Audit a strong plus

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or hardware-based technology environment.

Experience with government contracts, defense customers, or regulated environments preferred.

Hands-on ERP experience (Net Suite strongly preferred).

Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across technical and operational teams.
The base salary range for this position is shown below. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications. This range reflects the base salary for candidates in states requiring pay transparency disclosure.
Salary Range**$130,100—$165,000 USD**
