This role sits at the intersection of finance, data, and technology—focusing on improving data integrity from day one while identifying high-impact opportunities to enhance decision-making and efficiency.
The ideal candidate combines financial acumen with data fluency and a pragmatic approach to automation and AI, ensuring improvements do not compromise accuracy, control, or auditability.
Key Responsibilities: Data Management & Governance (Day One Priority)
- Establish and enforce strong data governance practices across finance systems and workflows
- Extract, validate, and reconcile data across ERP and planning systems
- Maintain structured, well-documented datasets optimized for reporting and AI model inputs
- Improve data quality, consistency, and traceability for downstream analytics
- Document data flows, definitions, and transformation logic to support transparency and audit requirements
- Partner with finance and technology teams to standardize data definitions and ensure a single source of truth
Automation & Process Optimization
- Reduce reliance on manual processes by designing and implementing automated workflows
- Build scalable, automated reporting solutions using Excel (Power Query, macros), SQL, and BI tools
- Standardize templates and reporting frameworks to minimize ad hoc analysis
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement scalable, repeatable solutions
- Ensure all automation maintains strong controls, validation checks, and audit trails
AI Enablement in Finance
- Identify high-value finance use cases where AI can drive measurable impact (e.g., forecasting, anomaly detection, variance analysis, narrative generation)
- Partner with data science and technology teams to support development of AI-driven solutions
- Prepare clean, structured datasets suitable for machine learning and advanced analytics
- Validate AI outputs to ensure alignment with financial controls and business logic
- Balance innovation with governance, ensuring AI adoption enhances—not risks—financial integrity
Phased AI Adoption & Risk Management
- Support a phased, low-risk approach to AI implementation within finance
- Pilot AI solutions in controlled environments before broader deployment
- Develop frameworks for monitoring model performance, accuracy, and bias
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory expectations, and data privacy standards
- Document methodologies and maintain transparency in AI-assisted processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or related roles
- Strong proficiency in Excel (including Power Query; VBA/macros a plus) and Alteryx
- Experience working with ERP and planning systems
- Understanding of data governance principles and financial controls
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts or tools in a finance or analytics context is a plus
- Amenable to work in US Hours (Night Shift)
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable data and automation solutions
- Curiosity and openness to leveraging AI in a controlled, practical way
