The Team:
The Enterprise Data Organization is dedicated to leveraging S&P Global’ s vast data coverage to deliver innovative solutions across the Enterprise. Data Partnership sits at the intersection of business stakeholders and the Enterprise Data Organization, bridging the gap between client needs and data execution. We focus on delivering high-quality, purpose driven data to clients via data standardization and harmonization.
As a senior member of the team, you will be collaborating and focusing on bringing together various stakeholders to drive Data Strategy Initiatives for S&P Global Energy Horizons. You will work within the context of a cross-functional team aligned with Business Stakeholders, Data Stewards, Operations Managers, Product and Technology.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Assist in the development and implementation of a data strategy for Energy Horizons that aligns with the overall S&P Global and EDO strategies
- Be the lead expert within the Enterprise Data Organization for Energy Transition (ET) and broadly Horizons datasets
- Be the conduit between S&P Global Energy Horizons and the EDO, promoting active communication to all levels within the organization on opportunities and health of projects sponsored by the EDO
- Manage the continued execution of strategic priority ET into Financial Institutions (FI) – PoC, MVP and full release. This would include data structures, identifying and documenting the dataflows for a variety of ET datasets, and resolving data inconsistencies and errors.
- Monitor and improve data quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives in consultation with research and product stakeholders
- Work closely with the Energy Horizons product and project leads, dependent x-divisional products and EDO teams and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, define data structures, and ensure alignment across different systems.
- Maintain the system and dependent collateral, including defining data standards, creating controlled vocabularies, and establishing data governance policies.
- Ensure a consistent data governance framework by supporting the development and enforcement of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulations.
- Consult on client business problems, identify data needs and formulate data solutions; create practical development roadmaps, package and present insights to stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Collaborate closely with operations, data stewardship, quality & customer, and other EDO teams to define specific data, quality, timeliness and comprehensiveness needs, as well as associated data policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in data management, data harmonization, or a related field serving financial companies and/or corporates in capital or energy markets
- Strong knowledge of the transition risks and opportunities market and offerings. You must be able to utilize S&P Global’s data offerings to meet the needs of energy transition/clean technologies risks and opportunities
- Strong organizational management, business case development, and able to work across business teams to meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communications with an aptitude to present thoughts and ideas to leadership
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on with data management/database tools and technologies (e.g. Databricks, SQL, ETL, Miro, data visualization) and AI tools (Spark Air/Assist, Co-Pilot) to be able to query, understand and analyze the data estate
- Experience supporting key strategic projects, managing client escalations related to data
- High level of expertise in O365 including MS Excel, PPT
