The Team:

The Commercial Development Representative team is a vital part of S&P Global's growth engine, focusing on identifying new business opportunities and strategically engaging with prospects. This dynamic team values proactive engagement, innovative outreach, and a collaborative approach to assess and articulate the value of our products to potential clients.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Proactively research and qualify new business prospects within assigned market segments, leveraging various sources to identify key decision-makers and potential clients.

  • Develop and execute effective outreach strategies to engage prospects, articulate the value proposition of S&P Global products, and schedule appointments for Sales Representatives.

  • Build and nurture initial prospect relationships, guiding opportunities through the early stages of the sales funnel through consistent communication and follow-up.

  • Maintain meticulous and timely records of all client interactions and prospect data within CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Actively seek to enhance product knowledge, market understanding, and business development techniques through continuous learning and collaboration with team members.

  • Contribute to team success by delivering high-quality work, managing priorities effectively, and providing insights for process improvements and best practices.

  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 1-3+ years of experience in telemarketing, sales development, or telephonic customer service.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in a business-related field.

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM databases like Salesforce.com is highly advantageous.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to assess urgency, manage competing priorities, and operate with a resourceful, solution-oriented mindset, contributing to effective project delivery.

  • A collaborative and supportive team player who actively seeks to build relationships, contributes beyond individual tasks, and understands how their behavior impacts team dynamics.

  • Proven ability to achieve targets and navigate challenging situations with resilience, demonstrating a strong client-service orientation.

  • Knowledge of the financial industry and/or financial divisions/departments is a significant advantage.
