About the Role

The Pratt & Whitney Quality organization is seeking an energetic, entry level contributor to support the East Hartford Hollow Fan Blade MCL Laboratory Group. The MCL Laboratory Group is responsible for chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical testing for validation to blueprint and specification requirements of various aerospace materials and finished parts.

Responsibilities

• Lab Tech responsible for metallurgical sample preparation, evaluation, disposition and quality documentation of materials/processes
• Interpret blue prints, specifications, procedures and laboratory manuals to assess what testing is required and conformance to requirements
• Interact with the shop to help respond to metallurgical problems and develop effective root cause and corrective action as appropriate
• Help the lab maintain its EH&S and operating requirements to assure a safe and productive working environment
• Perform analyses related to the evaluation of aerospace materials for compliance to standards
• Provide clear, concise, and accurate lab reports
• Interact effectively with customers at all levels

Qualifications

Must Have:

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with less than 2 years of relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• Strong work ethic; the ability to work independently and prioritize work flow

Preferred:

• Prior metallurgical laboratory experience
• Understanding of lab protocols

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

Compensation

Salary Range: $38,500 USD - $67,500 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
