We are seeking an Operations Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of the Effectors Operations Quality organization. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement
  • Drive manufacturing quality through hardware inspection, working hands on with the product and cross functional team to drive root cause corrective action
  • Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation
  • Engage manufacturing defect prevention teams to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Implementation
  • Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a minimum of two (2) years related engineering experience
  • Experience in identifying root cause, initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions in a cross functional process improvement environment
  • Experience in development/usage of quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
  • Experience in manufacturing process knowledge with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • J-STD-001, Six Sigma, Lean experience and/or ASQ Certifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques
  • Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
  • Proficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
  • Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. Six-sigma, lean manufacturing)

Work Arrangement

Employees who are working in onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

Compensation

Salary Range: $68,900 USD - $131,100 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under annual incentive compensation programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.   • This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
