We have an opportunity for a self-motivated Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Senior Manager to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at Raytheon's Joint Venture, RGNEXT located in Huntsville, AL. The Senior EH&S Manager will oversee a team of ~5 EH&S employees and will be responsible for the implementation of safety programs domestically and internationally for Raytheon's RGNEXT joint venture. This position will report to the International & Small Sites Regional Leader.
As a Senior EH&S Manager you're responsible for ensuring that RTX, Raytheon, and RGNEXT EH&S requirements are well implemented across RGNEXT's operations, including at the Huntsville, AL location and at RGNEXT operations located on the US Army Installation in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Kwajalein Atoll. Periodic travel to the Marshall Islands is required for this role.
The EH&S professional will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to drive employee engagement, control risks, and improve EH&S team performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of EHS professionals to assure compliance with applicable international, federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements
- Partner with business-critical stakeholders, including Customer representatives, RTX & Raytheon and RGNEXT Engineering, EH&S and Administrative functions through formal and ad-hoc processes
- Understand and drive achievement of strategic business goals and priorities for RTX, Raytheon and RGNEXT EH&S and effectively support/lead/motivate the EH&S team to accomplish them
- Empower, motivate, and lead the team to meet RTX, Raytheon and RGNEXT Command Media requirements
- Build a high performing team, improve team morale, and foster a positive working environment
- Identify & escalate issues or barriers to success immediately and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop / implement the strategy to remove them
- Partner with business level and local leaders to streamline processes or resolve problems where EHS is a stakeholder
- Recognize, evaluate, and control hazardous workplace conditions, and proactively influence safe behaviors to ensure safety and health of site employees
- Execute initiatives, programs and documentation to ensure that required training is completed across EH&S disciplines
- Prepare and manage EH&S documentation to achieve successful periodic audits
- Prepare & manage required permits or licenses and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities as applicable
- Maintains EH&S Management System Conformance
- Achieves and maintains consistency of EH&S record keeping and documentation with organizational and regulatory policy
- Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies
- Investigate, analyze, and interpret data from incident reports, injuries and near-miss reports ensuring corrective actions are completed within time limits and documented properly
- Interact with employees of all levels, promote relationships, learn the tasks employees perform and be known as an EH&S resource to the employees at the sites
- Work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs
- Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
- Be the primary owner of RGNEXT's environmental compliance programs, industrial hygiene programs, safety programs, asset protection programs, and Mgt. System programs
- Support sustainability practices and programs in alignment with our long-term goals
Travel Requirements
- Minimum 25% Travel International
- This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at RGNEXT's Huntsville, AL facility
Qualifications
Must Have
- Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
- Experience with identification and mitigation of EH&S hazards
- Knowledge and the application of the principals of regulatory requirements
- Ability to obtain a US Passport
Preferred
- Previous experience managing a distributed team
- Previous experience partnering with functional leaders and solving problems across functions
- Strong presentation skills
- Previous experience working at an active military installation, familiarity with OSHA VPP programs, and working in remote or austere environments
- Professional Certification in the EH&S field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.)
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills
- Ability to provide clear, concise, and effective verbal communications

Additional Information
Salary Range: $132,400 USD - $251,600 USD
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
