About the Role

Senior level professional focused on the development, build and modification of aircraft and ground vehicle simulators for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from PC based desktop trainers to high fidelity full-flight training systems.

What You Will Do

  • Be considered a specialist in a specific mechanical hardware design area (Structures, Packaging, Facility Design, etc.) or a generalist in multiple areas
  • Contribute to hardware engineering requirements capture, analysis, and derivation
  • Design, Analyze, Integrate and Document hardware systems of moderate to high complexity
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g. electrical, software and systems engineering) to ensure the mechanical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration and qualification testing of training systems of moderate to high complexity
  • Estimate, track, own and report status relating to technical performance, cost, schedule and risk performance for assigned scope of work
  • May Lead cross-functional teams (Mechanical and Electrical) in a Hardware Project Engineer role
  • Travel as necessary to customer sites, training activities, and trades shows

Required Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Proficient in use of Solid Works 3D Computer aided Design Tool
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Experienced in Design and Integration of mechanical items of Moderate to High complexity
  • A motivated self-starter with the ability to organize and execute complex assignments
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training Simulator Design Experience
  • Experience with working on military contracting programs
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2011 or similar
  • Experience with Earned Value Project Management and Cost Account Management activities
  • Ability to quickly shift focus between high level systems views and low level component details
