About the Role
Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting the LTAMDS and Ghost Eye Radars. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly.
Responsibilities
- Core Systems Engineering: Develop requirements and algorithms, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces
- Lead Testing Efforts: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments
- Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging
- Modeling and Simulation: Develop and execute models to predict system performance and support verification and validation
- Integrate Systems: Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact
- Document and Communicate: Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders
- Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements
- Present Findings: Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers
- Support Missions: Travel as needed (up to 20%) to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience
- Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test
- Experience developing both scripts and functions with MATLAB
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools
- Experience with model-based engineering
- Experience in developing and managing requirements
- Experience with C++, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with generating technical documentation, such as test plans, procedures, or technical reports
- Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification
- Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments
- Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $132,400 USD - $251,600 USD
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Incentive Compensation
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
Work Arrangement
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

- This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
