Rohr Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Principal Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering in Chula Vista, CA.

What YOU will do

  • Design and plan layout for assembly and materials handling.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Plan sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provide guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field and 8 years of progressive experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related role in the aerospace industry. In the alternative, must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field and 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related role in the aerospace industry would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience using CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and manufacturing drawings in the aerospace industry.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience with NC programming for complex aerospace components.
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience applying continuous improvement and process optimization methodologies (Six Sigma Green Belt Certification).
  • Must possess at least 5 years of experience in tool design and development for aerospace manufacturing applications.

Onsite:

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range is $142,147.00 to $224,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
