About the Role
The Avionics Common Development Environment team is on a mission to drive digital transformation to avionics. This is the PERFECT position for a Senior level Software Engineer with a strong background in Dev SecOps, Cert DevOps and creating digital technology transformations. Someone with a strong software engineering background responsible for helping teams across the organization smoothly adopt the Avionics Common Development Environment. This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Responsibilities
- Create and deploy adoption strategies for helping teams to efficiently adopt our common development environment
- Integrate with adopting teams to provide first class adoption support
- Create and manage adoption roadmaps and plans
- Execute adoption plans and roadmaps
- Set-up and own sandbox environments for technology incubation and development
- Work across teams and departments to enable rapid onboarding of the Cert DevOps technology
- Mentor, train and onboard teammates
- Be a self-starter, able to multitask and manage unplanned events
- Use organizational skills to keep track of everything
- Use effective communication skills to keep engineering peers, leadership and customers up to date
- Use problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills to support the team mission
Education and Experience Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- U.S. Person is required
- Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Practical experience in all aspects/phases the software engineering product lifecycle to include all phases of DO-178 certification
- Practical experience with industry known software development patterns
- Practical experience with Avionics Software Development
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops
- Experience with: GitLab, Git, CMake, MinGW, LynxOS, Coverity, Artifactory, Docker, Vista
- Experience and/or knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Robot, Lava
- Experience with networking protocols and IT infrastructure
- Experience with Agile development life cycle and best practices
Compensation
Salary Range: $86,800 USD - $165,200 USD
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Work Arrangement
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
