Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Consultant Engineer provides advanced technical and functional support for Rockwell Automation’s Factory Talk Information Software portfolio, with a primary focus on Life Sciences solutions such as Pharma Suite. In this role, you will help customers maintain and improve validated manufacturing systems by resolving complex application, platform, and product‑related issues.

You will serve as a trusted technical resource for Level 3 support teams, collaborate with cross‑functional engineering groups, and create high‑quality knowledge assets that strengthen customer enablement. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge MES technologies within regulated industries and contribute to the success of mission‑critical customer operations.

This role requires strong problem‑solving skills, self‑initiative, ownership, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service from issue inception through resolution. Some after‑hours and weekend support may be required on a rotational basis to support 24x7 customers.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide advanced functional and technical support for the Factory Talk Information Software suite with emphasis on Life Sciences MES (e.g., Pharma Suite).

• Diagnose and resolve complex application, integration, infrastructure, and performance issues.

• Support customer environments through phone, screen sharing, and email interactions with L3 support teams.

• Analyze system behavior across MES, ERP, databases, servers, and network layers.

Knowledge Development & Content Creation

• Create and publish high‑quality knowledge base articles, blogs, videos, and reference content for customers and internal teams.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes and documentation.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with cross‑functional engineering, product, and support organizations to drive timely issue resolution.

• Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders across customer and internal teams.

• Manage expectations, provide status updates, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the support lifecycle.

Professional Leadership & Growth

• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry standards, and competitive offerings.

• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members.

• Deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences as needed.

The Essentials

You Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (other disciplines considered based on relevance).

• 5 years of experience troubleshooting, implementing, or designing industrial process and/or automation systems.

• Experience with Rockwell Automation software platforms including Factory Talk Production Centre, Pharma Suite, CPG, Factory Talk Analytics, and Modular Framework.

• Knowledge of Life Sciences manufacturing and associated MES/ERP tools.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States without present or future sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Technical Expertise

• 10 years of experience in industrial automation, MES, or process systems engineering.

• Installation, configuration, and administration experience with:

• Linux and Windows Server environments

• Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle RDBMS

• Web-based applications and relational databases

• Open-source technologies (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, ActiveMQ)

• Containerized platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)

Software & Integration Skills

• Programming experience in Java, JavaScript, SQL, Eclipse, or equivalent languages.

• Familiarity with protocols such as OPC, LDAP, SSL/TLS, REST APIs, and web services.

Tools & Platforms

• Experience with Jira, Git, SSRS, cloud computing (Microsoft Azure), and storage/networking technologies.
