• Configuration team at Roblox and contribute to our mission of providing an exceptional development experience. As a Senior Software Engineer, your work will play a crucial role in transforming our development process and enabling global growth with sophisticated technology.

You Will

• Unify and Integrate Systems: Integrate multiple high-performance frontends and backends into a cohesive, scalable and secure next-gen configuration system that supports millions of requests per second. Also integrate configuration management seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline.

• Accelerate configuration management with AI: Enable seamless configuration upgrades, management, and automation through the application of AI Agents

• Ensure safety and reliability: Configuration changes can be error prone and difficult, build robust systems to automate these processes and ensure safe changes at scale.

• Enhance and Support: Own and refine existing configuration systems, handle on-call support as needed, and proactively introduce new features and bug fixes to improve stability and performance.

• Improve Runtime Configurations: Build and enforce language-specific libraries and standard processes to optimize runtime configurations across our platform, encouraging consistency and efficiency.

• Drive Innovation: Continuously explore new technologies, tools, and frameworks to keep our configuration systems at the forefront of efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

• Champion Best Practices: Advocate for high standards in code quality, security, and system design, fostering a culture that values innovation, resilience, and long-term impact.

You Have:

• Experience in back-end work, with strong proficiency in backend technologies like C# and Golang.

• Familiarity with the whole development lifecycle, including concept, deployment, and use of infrastructure, configuration, and CI/CD tools to improve efficiency and prioritize security.

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks on the front end is a plus.

• Experience with Kubernetes or Hashistack is a plus.

• A Backend Engineer who excels at crafting, building, and delivering secure software that makes a tangible impact.

• Known for writing clean, resilient code and maintaining a keen eye for simplicity, efficiency, and scalability in every solution.

• Motivated to tackle fresh challenges, consistently expanding knowledge and exploring tools, frameworks, and standard processes to remain at the forefront.

• You excel in multi-functional teams, communicate optimally, and prioritize the user experience in all features and functionality you develop.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range**$196,750—$243,290 USD**
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
