Role Summary As a Cloud Infrastructure Intern, you will work closely with our Platform Engineering Team to gain hands-on experience with the cloud technologies and architectures that power our global operations. You will contribute to building solutions that enhance developer productivity and streamline the management of our massive-scale infrastructure. This internship is designed to provide a unique learning experience in a modern, cloud-native environment. You will sit at the intersection of software engineering and systems operations, helping to design and implement the "foundations" that allow our entire engineering organization to ship code faster and more reliably. Responsibilities Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Assist in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions using modern IaC principles. Cloud Operations: Work directly with AWS services to manage and scale our cloud footprint. Containerization: Gain practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes, helping to manage and orchestrate containerized applications. Automation: Support automation efforts using scripting languages like Python or Bash to improve platform efficiency and developer workflows. Collaboration: Partner with senior platform engineers to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and participate in architectural discussions. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Educational Background: Currently pursuing degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Cloud Literacy: Basic knowledge of cloud computing concepts, with a specific interest in AWS. Automation Basics: Experience writing scripts in Python or Bash for personal projects, coursework, or previous roles. The "Systems" Mindset: An understanding of how software interacts with the underlying operating system and network. Preferred Qualifications The "Builder" Mindset: You enjoy automating repetitive tasks or "homelabbing" (setting up your own servers, VPS, or cloud instances). Modern Tooling: Exposure to (or a strong desire to learn) orchestration tools like Kubernetes and containerization with Docker. IaC Curiosity: You are interested in how code can manage physical hardware: familiarity with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus. DevOps Interest: You don’t just want to write code; you want to understand the entire lifecycle of how that code gets deployed and monitored. Problem-Solving Skills: A passion for finding "the better way" to do things and an eagerness to collaborate within a fast-paced, high-stakes engineering environment. Pay Disclosure This is a full-time, paid internship with a monthly salary.
