About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

We are hiring a Senior/Staff/Principal Technical Program Manager. The role will work alongside PMs and EMs in driving roadmap and cross-team initiatives at the center of our international expansion efforts. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Program Delivery, with consistent and quantifiable success facilitating collaboration across many teams, and a willingness to dive deep and push product leadership to deliver results. You will be responsible for identifying dependencies and risks, resolving blockers, and leveraging best practices to ensure predictable and timely delivery of products that delight customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive strategic cross-functional planning, prioritization and execution by closely partnering with product managers, engineering leads and stakeholders to develop program plans, including roadmap, dependency identifications and resourcing plan.
  • Establish and lead regular program level meetings with product & engineering leadership to ensure projects are driven to successful outcomes.
  • Resolve program-level issues using scrum-of-scrums as needed. Facilitate executive-level escalations and program-level change management.
  • Monitor health of program delivery. Track program-level status, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Manage program-level communications ensuring stakeholders are informed of roadmap changes, release plans and delivery status. Lead program-level reviews with delivery teams, stakeholders and executive management as required.
  • Dive deep with product leads to translate business requirements into concrete engineering tasks.
  • Contribute to the definition, development and tracking of effective metrics and R&D improvements that drive improved Product Team operating performance and lead a regular review of program metrics and health.
  • Establish, document and drive adoption of program frameworks, tools and best practices.
  • Consider roadblockers and delays their own personal priority, escalate issues appropriately, and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
  • Be an agent of change as we establish and strengthen our Technical Program Management function across the company.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as TPM, Engineering Lead, Manager, or equivalent working directly with software engineering teams
  • Proven track record to communicate technical issues effectively to technical and non-technical partners at different levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to build and implement detailed plans accounting for ambiguity, dependencies, and technical complexity in an agile environment
  • Demonstrated excellence in the practice of technical program management, especially in establishing TPM processes from scratch
  • Highly skilled in pragmatically identifying, tracking and reporting on cross team dependencies and collaboratively addressing them effectively with providing/receiving Business Units.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a hands-on disposition.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization from engineers to executives.
  • Demonstrates 2+ years as a successful agilist and change agent, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Four-year Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related degree, or equivalent work experience.
