The Customer Support Payroll team at Rippling is a dedicated group of professionals committed to ensuring that our customers have a seamless experience with our robust Finance, HR, and IT platform. Our team provides expert guidance and swift resolutions to any technical challenges or inquiries that our customers have. What you will do
- US Payroll
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues and guide customers through payroll processing, tax filing, and compliance questions
- Become the go-to product expert on our Global Payroll and HR capabilities for customers in your designated region.
- Develop and maintain clear, accurate content, documentation, and FAQs to support both customers and internal teams.
- Analyze customer support interactions to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities to improve the support experience.
- Partner with regional Product Managers to provide insights on support volume, customer feedback, and critical compliance concerns.
- Serve as a senior resource and point of escalation for Customer Support Specialists on complex, region-specific payroll issues.
- Personally own and resolve the most challenging customer cases by leveraging your deep platform and country-specific payroll expertise.
What you will need
Region-Specific Qualifications: Candidates should possess the general qualifications listed below in "Common for all", plus the specific qualifications for one of the following regions:
For US Payroll:
- 1-4 years of customer support experience in US Payroll domain
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll discrepancies
- Experience working in a payroll provider, HR software company, or a large in-house payroll function is highly preferred
For the United Kingdom (UK)
- 1-3 years of hands-on UK payroll experience.
- Deep knowledge of UK payroll regulations, including PAYE (Pay As You Earn), National Insurance (NI), Statutory Payments (SSP, SMP, etc.), and other deductions.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, wage components, Benefits in Kind (BIK), and compliance reporting through HMRC.
For Canada
- 1-3 years of hands-on Canadian payroll experience.
- Deep knowledge of both Federal and Provincial payroll regulations, including CPP, EI, Federal/Provincial Income Tax, and statutory deductions. A PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, taxable benefits, and compliance reporting (e.g., T4s, Record of Employment
- ROE).
For Australia
- 1-3 years of hands-on Australian payroll experience.
- Deep knowledge of Australian payroll regulations, including PAYG (Pay As You Go) Withholding, Superannuation Guarantee (SG), and other statutory deductions.
- Strong understanding of Modern Awards, payroll processing, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and compliance reporting through Single Touch Payroll (STP) to the ATO.
For India
- 1-3 years of hands-on Indian payroll experience.
- Deep knowledge of Indian payroll regulations, including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), and TDS on Salary.
- Strong understanding of statutory bonus, gratuity, leave encashment, and compliance reporting (e.g., filing of quarterly and annual TDS returns, generation of Form 16).
For France
- 1-3 years of hands-on French payroll experience.
- Deep knowledge of French payroll regulations, including social security contributions (cotisations sociales), income tax withholding (prélèvement à la source
- PAS), CSG/CRDS, and mandatory supplementary pension schemes (e.g., AGIRC-ARRCO).
- Strong understanding of the monthly social security declaration (DSN - Déclaration Sociale Nominative), the structure of the French payslip (bulletin de paie), and compliance reporting.
Common for all:
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, troubleshooting a SaaS product with attention to detail.
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (in English)
- Experience (and open to) working night shifts (6:30 PM IST - 7:00 AM IST (any 9-hour shift))

absolutely horrendous interview experience at Rippling
I recently went through on site loop for sde 2 position at rippling, i cleared the first round, after the second round of interview was done i waited for 3 days before following up when i was told that no feedback was submitted yet by the interviewer, i said fine, i'll wait, another week passed, still the same fking response, i don't know why they are hogging up my feedback like this, it is putting me in a bad position as other candidates have already moved forward and attempted the final round,
