It’s not everyday that you consider starting a new career. We’re Ring Central, and we’re happy that someone as talented as you is considering this role. First, a little about us, we’re a $2 Billion annual revenue company with double digit Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and a $93 Billion market opportunity in UCaaS, Contact Center and AI-powered adjacencies. We invest more than $250 million annually to ensure our AI-enabled technology and platforms meet or exceed the needs of our customers.

As Senior Privacy Counsel you will be the primary privacy legal advisor dedicated to supporting our product teams as they build AI-first communications and contact center solutions for customers multi-nationally. This role requires an attorney who excels at operating at the intersection of complex legal requirements and cutting-edge cloud technology, translating global privacy laws and its interplay with AI laws into actionable guidance that enables business growth and innovation. This role will report to the Head of Privacy.

-
Ensure that Ring Central services comply with evolving global privacy and security regulations.
-
Partner directly with the Information Security team to review product security controls, conduct risk analyses, align legal privacy requirements with technical security implementation for all new products, including as it relates to HIPAA, and ensure that security policies align with and take into account requirements for the protection of personal information.
-
Develop and update customer-facing collateral and resources on Ring Central Trust Center to support transparency for customers and partners.
-
Support records of processing activities and documentation for products including data locations, data transfers, and subprocessor processing in coordination with other Privacy Team members.
-
Support the incident response program, by ensuring that the documentation is current and in alignment with applicable laws and by representing the privacy team in the incident response activities.
-
Monitor legal developments, collaborate and build relationships with industry peers, to stay abreast of trends and issues globally, as they may impact Ring Central’s privacy posture, templates, and commercial practices.
-
Collaborate with and provide guidance to Privacy Team members in their roles and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
-
J.D. Degree and active membership in good standing with at least one US state bar.
-
6+ years of legal experience with focus on data privacy, preferably combining law firm and in-house experience.
-
Direct experience counseling product teams on privacy requirements with the ability to balance business needs and legal requirements.
-
Deep working knowledge of major global privacy laws and practical implementation of the laws to product innovation.
