About the role
Overview
At the Co-op, people are at the heart of everything we do. As part of the Employee Lifecycle & Belonging team, the Senior Program Manager plays a critical role in bringing our culture, values, and talent practices to life through programs that connect, recognize, and elevate the moments that matter most in the employee experience.
Reporting to the Director of People Programs, this role shapes, designs, and executes meaningful experiences from recognition and cultural programming to performance and talent initiatives that strengthen how employees live our values day to day. You’ll blend creative storytelling, program management excellence, and a human-centered design approach to create programs that feel valued and connected to our shared purpose and bring our distributed workforce together.
Responsibilities and Qualifications What You’ll Do:

- Enhance the full employee journey. Coordinate across teams and projects to weave our values and behavioral expectations into performance, talent growth, and key lifecycle touchpoint throughout the employee journey.
- Design for clarity and connection. Create simple, engaging, and visually compelling toolkits, guides, and learning assets that help employees and leaders put our culture and performance principles into practice every day.
- Tell our story. Capture and amplify stories that bring our culture, values, and employee stories to life, reinforcing what “great” looks like and celebrating progress across teams and functions.
- Lead with purpose and precision. Manage and evolve culture, performance, and recognition programs end to end—balancing creativity with structure and ensuring every detail supports a great employee experience.
- Center equity and belonging. Embed REDI (Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) principles into every phase of design and delivery, creating fair and inclusive experiences for all.
- Build strong partnerships. Bring the right people together at the right moments, enabling smart decisions, shared ownership, and connected experiences across divisions.
- Listen and adapt. Use employee feedback, data, and external trends to refine programs, enhance participation, and respond to changing business and people needs.
- Stay curious and bold. Experiment, learn fast, and adapt, designing employee experiences that make work feel more connected, purposeful, and human.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience leading culture, performance, or employee experience programs in a complex, distributed organization such as retail, hospitality, healthcare, transportation or other industries with a mix of frontline and headquarters employees.
- Strong project and program management skills with a track record of driving multiple initiatives from concept through delivery.
- Experience translating values and talent principles into simple, high‑impact experiences that resonate with diverse employee populations.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and visual design skills—able to turn ideas into clear messages and engaging moments.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
