The Red Hat Secure Flow Cloud Group is looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products during an internship to join us as a Software Engineer Intern. In this role, you will be part of the Operator Foundry team that provides a standards based automation workflow for creating Red Hat’s container and Open Shift operator products via its own internal workflows (involving technologies such as Jenkins, Python and Tekton/Open Shift Pipelines on AWS Cloud). As part of your internship, you will not only be working with a set of diverse, high-functioning individuals, you will be exposed to the internal workings of how Red Hat builds, tests and releases products. Your work environment will range from developing software using Python, Ansible, Bash, Go to use of Red Hat’s Internal Tooling and Public Cloud APIs, Kubernetes/Open Shift/Tekton/ArgoCD as integration technologies of choice.

At Red Hat, you’ll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you’ll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it’s also about commitment and follow-through.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. • Report progress regularly to internal customers when fixing bugs, shares own design and research work with internal customers

What you will bring:

  • You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.

  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English

  • Knowledge of the UNIX or Linux operating system (any distribution)

  • Coding experience in languages like Python, Java or Go

  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum practices

  • With some guidance, able to network and build connections with the immediate team, and is eager to learn and help

The following are considered a plus:

  • Previous code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub.

  • Knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Kubernetes/Open Shift, Podman or Bash scripting.

Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate. To maximize your chances of moving forward in the process, please ensure your CV clearly outlines your education, relevant projects (link to your git.hub account), and extracurricular activities. Incomplete applications may be excluded from screening. You can find helpful tips and recommendations in this article.

Please apply to a maximum of 3 internship roles that best match your interests and skills.
