The Red Hat Open Source and AI Program Office (OSAIPO) team is looking for an Intern interested in community management to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will act as a bridge between Red Hat’s engineering goals and the global cloud native ecosystem, helping to build healthy and inclusive open source communities. You will work alongside global stakeholders to drive community engagement and work on events like KCDs or Dev Conf.CZ, and advocate for projects within the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain experience in community management and event organisation.
At Red Hat, you’ll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you’ll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it’s also about commitment and follow-through.
Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is July 1st.
What you will do:
-
Assist with the planning and execution of cloud native community events and activities.
-
Communicate with different cloud native project stakeholders, including users and contributors, both in the open source community and at Red Hat.
-
Help with the interaction between internal teams and external open source foundations (CNCF) and communities, fostering collaboration and contribution.
-
Assist in creating and refining community facing guidelines for Red Hatters.
What you will bring:
-
You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.
-
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
-
Basic understanding of open source ecosystem and software development
-
Interest in learning new technologies related to cloud computing
-
Good communication and interpersonal skills
-
Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
-
Ability to problem-solve
-
Ability to understand the needs associated with a project and the target audience
Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate. To maximize your chances of moving forward in the process, please ensure your CV clearly outlines your education, relevant projects (link to your git.hub account), and extracurricular activities. Incomplete applications may be excluded from screening. You can find helpful tips and recommendations in this article.
Please apply to a maximum of 3 internship roles that best match your interests and skills.
