Our Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions – System Engineering Department is looking for talented experienced Software Engineers to join our team that is developing and supporting next generation Air Traffic Control Systems. This is an opportunity to learn new technologies as we develop enhanced capabilities for the nation’s air traffic control systems.

What you will do:

• Develop prototype software to integrate new technologies into the existing system.
• Help inform system engineering to identify needed requirements.
• Generate documentation on how new technologies can be integrated into the existing system.
• Develop prototype software for new capabilities to be added to the existing system.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience developing software for a Unix/Linux environment.
• Experience with micro service architecture.
• Experience containerizing existing applications.
• Experience with REST and RabbitMQ based messaging.

Qualifications we prefer:

• Experience developing and debugging C software in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as bash and python.
• Experience with air traffic systems.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
