Overview

This role is a focal point for procurement of associated goods, materials, supplies, and services with assigned suppliers. Collins has both Product and Non-Product Buyers. They are responsible for purchase order placement, delivery assurance, and other procurement-related activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage Procurement activity with focus on strategic sourcing efforts, qualified supply network, oversee supplier risk management, and manage cost and spend
• Establish, manage and develop a capable supply base for category requirement
• Collaborate with other regions and teams to ensure integrated delivery of procurement support
• Conduct periodic market research for assigned categories to include monitoring of market trends and supply/demand factors, technology advancements and communications to help in the decision-making process to meet the strategic goals of the organization
• Ensure that information held on commodities is consistent with core purchasing systems
• Use of systems and tools specific to commodities ensuring that information held on these is consistent with core purchasing systems (SAP etc)
• Issue POs based on contractual terms
• Proactively seek cost reduction through research, communication and planning through applying effective purchasing techniques

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Mechanical
