This Skill Bridge opportunity is with Collins Aerospace

To be eligible for a Skill Bridge, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces

  • Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29.

  • Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.

  • Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.

Performs tests to assess conformance with engineering specifications. Sets up testing apparatus and conducts quality assurance/control tests of raw materials, parts, components, finished items, packaging, equipment and systems.

Final testing on sub-assemblies or completed units as necessary to ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, and chemical performance. Scope of work may include but is not limited to strength testing, thermal testing, pyrometry and metallurgic testing.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on manual and automated test equipment systems.

  • Repair test equipment

  • Installation and checkout of new test equipment

  • Inventory management

  • Troubleshoot test equipment failures.

  • Implement engineering changes, modify, or upgrade test equipment.

  • Modify or upgrade existing test equipment.

  • Using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics.

  • Effectively communicating work status to team members and support staff (e.g., shift pass down, engineering, maintenance)

  • Understand theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components

  • Good computer skills and knowledge of MS office software applications

  • Must wear static-control and personal protective equipment.

  • 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

Qualifications You Must Have

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with component-level troubleshooting

  • Experience with schematics or blueprints

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics and/or certification in Electronics

  • Experience with component level troubleshooting

  • Experience in aerospace industry

  • Experience with thermal tables, vibrational tables, and test rigs.

  • Experience with electronics repair
