About the Role

We have an immediate need for a Machine Operator to join our Thin Film Coating Department. In this role, you will play a key part in the operation of our Thin Film deposition chambers, developing the skills required to become a Thin Film Coating technician. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled professionals, leverage advanced technologies, and contribute to the success of Raytheon ELCAN.

Responsibilities

• Operating vacuum coating machines for the application of single, multi-layer coatings
• Inspecting and cleaning of optical components
• Preparing, cleaning and loading of coating chambers
• Performing metrology measurement, such as transmission, reflection and ellipsometry
• Collaborate with cross functional team including Engineering & perform R&D
• Computer skills including Product Center, Outlook, Excel and Word
• Hands on work that requires good hand dexterity and organized work habits
• Share in the commitment towards a positive workplace culture

Qualifications

You Must Have:

• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion Post-Secondary in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing)
• Proven ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions
• Highly motivated with a demonstrated positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience

Security Requirements

This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government's Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. In order to obtain the required security clearance, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements. Job offers will be conditional upon candidates undergoing a successful security screening per the Controlled Goods Regulations and the Contract Security Program.
