Lifecycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. About the Role

We are looking for a Principal Ordnance Assessment Engineer to join our OA team located in Tucson, AZ.

As an Ordnance Assessment (OA) Engineer, you will lead and support the execution of testing and analysis efforts for a combined surveillance and shelf-life assessment program that assists our customers in inventory management decisions and provides a continuing assessment of the effects of operational environments on the product's safety, quality, performance, reliability, and service life status.

Responsibilities

• Perform missile-level accelerated aging (environmental exposure)
• Execute missile and lower-level teardown inspections
• Develop energetic item accelerated aging and test plans
• Coordinate accelerated aging and testing of energetic and mechanical components at the manufacturer's facilities or other designated test facilities
• Develop assessment reports and present results at customer reviews
• Review and approve the accuracy, quality and scope of the OA team's work products

Required Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience with weapons inspections, hardware testing, and/or hardware integration
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with weapons loading in accordance with Military specifications and standards
• Experience with root cause or failure analysis
• Experience with statistical analysis techniques
• Experience with project management, including developing and executing project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and performance standards
• Understanding of environmental effects on hardware and application of technical theories and concepts in relation to the operation of aging
• Ability to take an analytical approach and utilize technical knowledge to solve challenges

Salary Range: $86,800 USD - $165,200 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This is an Onsite role. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
