About the Role

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Senior Lab Assistant who works under minimal supervision. This candidate will perform hands-on technical work with engineering products. This role confers with Engineers and Lab Technicians on details and specifications to build, modify, and inspect a wide range of products.

What You Will Do

  • Works under minimal supervision to provide technical building support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks
  • Performs moderately complex hands-on technical tasks that contribute to the completion of engineering projects and products
  • Works on circuit boards completing repairs, component insertion and replacement, and even inspection
  • Familiar with soldering techniques, both lead and lead-free
  • Build cables and terminations for a wide variety of circuity types
  • Understands the engineering inspection and quality process and follows quality procedures
  • Reads prints, drawings, and schematics as needed to assist in the building process
  • Documents change and inspection results as required for a wide variety of products
  • Uses hand tools, scopes, soldering stations, and other devices with skill and precision
  • Demonstrates successful soft skills - communication, attitude, leadership, and professionalism

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Previous or current experience with building and inspecting

Salary

The salary range for this role is $43,400 USD - $82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Work Arrangement

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Regardless of your role type, collaboration and innovation are critical to our business and all employees will have access to digital tools so they can work with colleagues around the world – and access to Collins sites when their work requires in-person meetings.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.
